At "EN TEA HOUSE," when you make a cup of tea, flowers begin to bloom in the tea. The flowers will continue to bloom endlessly as long as there is tea. The tea in the cup becomes an infinite world where the flowers continue to bloom. This is a tea house where you can drink this infinitely expanding world as it is. This is a collaborative work between EN TEA and the art group "TeamLab."

About the work

Flowers Bloom in an Infinite Universe inside a Teacup

When tea is made, flowers begin to grow and bloom in the tea bowl. If you pick up the tea bowl and move it, the flowers scatter and the petals spread outside the bowl. As long as there is tea in the tea bowl, the flowers will continue to grow and bloom.
The work comes into being when there is tea in the tea bowl. When the tea is drunk and gone, the work ceases to exist.
Because tea is a liquid and a transformative entity, the amount of tea in the tea bowl changes the level of the water, and accordingly, the size of the flowers that bloom also changes. If the tea is spilled from the tea bowl, flowers will bloom there again.
Flowers bloom throughout the year, depending on the month and the area.
The artwork is rendered in real time by a computer program. It is not a pre-recorded image that is played back. The artwork as a whole is continually changing due to the interaction of the viewer, and previous states can never be replicated. The picture at this moment can never be seen again.

Cold Brewed Green Tea ICE

Cold-brewed green tea that fully extracts the natural sweetness and umami of tea. Tea masters have researched and perfected the manufacturing process for each part of the tea leaf so that it can be extracted with water.


Cold Brewed Yuzu Green Tea ICE

This cold-brewed tea is blended with domestically grown yuzu. The aroma of yuzu is strong at first, but the aftertaste is a refreshing green tea. Wasanbon sugar is added to make it easy to drink.


Tamaryokucha HOT

This tea allows you to taste the original flavor of green tea. Made using the steamed green tea method, this finely powdered green tea is packed with flavor, so you can enjoy it as "edible green tea."


German Chamomile Houjicha Latte HOT

A latte made with roasted green tea blended with sweet-smelling German chamomile and warm milk. Discover a new way to enjoy roasted green tea.


Rokujo Mugicha Latte HOT/ICE

A barley tea latte made with domestic barley tea and low-fat milk. Enjoy this non-caffeinated latte with a gentle sweetness and fragrant aroma.


Frozen Tamaryokucha (Tamaryokucha ice cream) set

This rich ice cream is made from the steamed green tea, which is packed with flavor. It does not contain any unnecessary additives, such as coloring or flavoring. When you let the flavor of the tea melt on your tongue, the mellow aroma of real tea fills your entire mouth.
Supervised by Chef Tamura Koji, who is responsible for "Mr. CHEESECAKE," the "best cheesecake of your life," said to be the hardest cheesecake to obtain in Japan.
