teamLab SuperNature Macao held its grand opening at the Venetian Macao on June 1st. On the same day, the art space " EN TEA HOUSE - Genkatei " was also opened to the public. "EN TEA HOUSE - Genkatei" is a tea house where flowers continue to bloom endlessly in EN TEA tea, allowing you to drink the infinitely expanding world as it is.

"How can we humans live as part of nature in the future?" EN TEA has not only produced tea leaves, but has also been working on the brand.

We decided to join teamLab in this artwork space, as we empathize with their grandiose endeavor to capture the great presence and beauty of nature beyond art and digital technology.

It is a great pleasure for us to have people from all over the world, not just in Japan, enjoy EN TEA, and we would like to continue to develop tea leaves and extraction methods.

Introduction

Flowers Bloom in an Infinite Universe inside a Teacup

When you make a cup of tea, flowers begin to bloom within the tea. When you pick up the teacup, the flowers scatter and spread outside the cup. The flowers will continue to bloom endlessly as long as there is tea. The tea in the cup becomes an infinite world where the flowers continue to bloom. Drink into that infinitely expanding world as it is.

The artwork is born only when there is tea. Once the tea is drunk, the artwork no longer exists.
Because tea is a transformative liquid, its size changes depending on the amount of tea in the container. And accordingly, the size of the flowers that bloom will also change. If the tea is spilled from the container, flowers will bloom in the spilled tea.

Throughout the year, flowers bloom according to the season of each month.

The artwork is rendered in real time by a computer program. It is not a pre-recorded image that is played back. The artwork as a whole is continually changing due to the interaction of people, and previous states can never be replicated. The picture at this moment can never be seen again.

Tea Tree

When frozen tea is placed, tea plants will grow from it. When many frozen teas are placed, it will eventually become a tea garden. The tea plants will flower in late autumn. When frozen tea is moved, the tea plants will wither and regrow in a new location.

Once the frozen tea runs out, the tea plants will wither and disappear.
